Appreciation Events - Thank You Westminster Connects Volunteers

This August, Westminster Connects organised two special appreciation events for our active volunteers who have been busy and engaged in the community.

At the Tower of London, 22 volunteers had the chance to connect with each other and enjoy an interesting cultural day out. They experienced a fascinating walking tour of the Tower of London, exploring 1000 years of British history, the medieval fortress, and had the unique opportunity to see the dazzling Crown Jewels.

At the ZSL London Zoo, 21 volunteers received a warm welcome and an introduction from the Team at ZSL. Afterward, the Westminster Connects team led an icebreaker activity encouraging volunteers to get to know each other. In small groups, the volunteers had a wonderful time exploring the area and seeing animals from all over the world, including penguins, monkeys, hippos, wild butterflies, colourful reptiles, and much more.

Here is what our volunteers had to say:

“Thank you very much for the lovely trip to the Tower of London. It was amazing to see a bit of Royal history and to meet all of you. I love the picture of the group so I can remember everyone as nice and friendly.”
Algemira, Shopping Volunteer

“It was nice to join the London Zoo appreciation event and to see so many fellow volunteers, including some new faces. It’s always good to meet such a diverse group of volunteers to share experiences and learn from each other. It opens our minds to new ideas. Thank you, Westminster Connects.”
Nobuko, Events Volunteer

We are truly grateful to all our volunteers who continue to dedicate their time to serving the community. If you want to get involved, head over to our opportunities page to start your volunteering journey!
