South Asian Heritage Month 2025!
This week, Westminster City Hall was transformed into a nature and planting hub in celebration of South Asian Heritage Month 2025. The theme, Roots to Routes, encouraged reflection on South Asian agricultural history and its modern-day connections with young people.
The youth mental health charity Ashok's Vision International, which also specializes in climate work, led planting activities with staff over two days.
The efforts were supported by the dedicated Westminster Connects Volunteers - Beata (Gardening Volunteer), Rosemin (Cooking, Charity and Events Volunteer), and Niral (Events Volunteer).
Set to a backdrop of jazz music, staff took home free seeds and plants, making it a unique and special experience for Westminster!
Thanks to Miah, Shofa: WCC Youth Council Strategic Manager Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Team for organising the event and for collaborating with Westminster Connects to support this good cause ![]()
