Important update for event volunteers
Over the past five years, the incredible support of Westminster Connects Volunteers at events across Westminster has made a real difference. We’re so grateful to have you as part of our wonderful volunteering community.
However, we want to let you know about some upcoming changes to how we will manage volunteering for events going forward. We understand that change can sometimes be unsettling, but rest assured, the Westminster Connects Team is still on hand during this transition stage to support you. We are committed to making this process as smooth as possible and ensuring that you continue to have a rewarding experience while volunteering with us.
What’s changing?
- On behalf of Westminster Connects, One Westminster will now recruit and manage volunteers for external events such as the Sir Simon Milton Foundation Tea Dance and London Marathon events. One Westminster is the volunteer centre for Westminster.
What’s not changing?
- Westminster Connects will continue to recruit and manage volunteers for Westminster City Council partnership events, such as West End Live and the Dog Shows.
- Westminster Connects will also keep hosting our volunteer appreciation events to celebrate you, whether you volunteer through One Westminster or participate in Westminster Connects managed events.
What does this mean for you?
- You will still be a Westminster Connects volunteer, wearing our green hi-vis tabards for all events, including those managed by One Westminster.
- You will still be able to view opportunities and apply through the Westminster Connects Volunteering platform, where all events, whether managed by One Westminster or Westminster Connects, will be listed.
What do you need to do?
- We are in the process of ensuring a smooth transition to One Westminster. To facilitate this, we kindly request that you complete the form to provide us with your consent to pass on your volunteer details to One Westminster.
- One Westminster will then be able to contact you directly about their event volunteering opportunities. However, even if you don’t sign up, you will still be able to apply for events on the Westminster Connects platform.

One Westminster is recruiting a paid, part time (21 hours a week) Events and Activities Volunteer Coordinator, to help deliver their programme of volunteer events. You can find out more and apply for the role on their website. The closing date for applications is Tuesday October 14th, 5pm.
