In our latest Westminster Connects newsletter, we shared a message from Cllr Robert Rigby, Westminster City Council's new Cabinet Member for Resident Services and Civic Pride.
“If you are one of the many people giving their time through Westminster Connects, thank you. What you do - whether it is a weekly shop for a neighbour or volunteering for a local community organisation supporting those in need - matters far more than you might realise. It keeps people connected, independent and part of our community. Civic Pride, to me, is exactly this: residents choosing to show up for each other, in small ways that add up to something significant. As the new Cabinet Member for Resident Services and Civic Pride, I want to build on that. I want more people to experience what so many volunteers already know - that giving your time is one of the most rewarding things you can do in your community. So, if you are already involved, please keep going. If you have been thinking about volunteering, now is a great time to take that step. Westminster Connects makes it straightforward to find something that fits your life - and your community will be better for it”.
