It's time to celebrate our community heroes

We need your help to celebrate the incredible individuals who make an 
impact in our community - in big ways or small. 

With 12 award categories, we’re honouring volunteers, green champions, 
neighbourhood centres, art and culture leaders, and so much more.

Anybody can nominate, so shine a spotlight on your community hero today.

Nominations closing on the 13th of February 2026 - don't delay!

Shortlisted nominees will be invited to the awards ceremony on Monday 23 March 2026 to celebrate their achievements.

Award categories

Outstanding work with children and young

  • Awarded to the organisation that has made a notable impact on the lives of children and young people.  

Contribution to Health, Wellbeing and Health Equity

  • Awarded to the organisation that has made the significant contribution to health, wellbeing and health equity. 

Contribution to Older People

  • Awarded to the organisation that has made the significant contribution to improving the lives of older people. 

Contribution to People with Disabilities

  • Awarded to the organisation that has made the significant contribution to improving the lives of people with disabilities.  

Contribution to Arts and Culture

  • Awarded to the organisation that contributes widely to celebrating and engaging with residents through arts and culture. 

Contribution to Environment/Green Hero

  • Awarded to the organisation that is notably committed to the Green agenda on a local level. 

Volunteering Project of the Year

  • Awarded to the project that makes notable difference to the community through volunteers. 

Building Social Cohesion Award

  • Awarded to the organisation that is committed to connecting with diverse community groups by providing them with a sense of belonging and building relationships. 

Corporate Social Responsibility Impact Award

  • Awarded to the corporate organisation that has made the most notable CSR initiatives within the VCS Sector

Young Volunteer of the Year

  • Awarded to the young person that goes the extra mile to support the community by giving their time voluntarily to help others. 

Active Citizen of the Year

  • Awarded to a resident who makes a notable difference to the community and council by engaging in activities.
