Volunteer Thank You Event at the Lord Mayors Parlour
Published on February 9, 2026
On the 28th of January, we were absolutely delighted to host our Annual Westminster Connects Volunteer Thank You Event, where we celebrated the outstanding dedication of our active volunteers in the local community. The evening was a heartwarming gathering of volunteers and community partners, providing a fantastic opportunity to connect, share stories, and strengthen the bonds that make our work so impactful.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with those of you who were able to attend. Both the Lord Mayor of Westminster and The Leader of Westminster City Council expressed their heartfelt gratitude and admiration for your unwavering commitment.

The night was filled with lively music and dancing, further adding to the joyous atmosphere. It was a memorable event that truly captured the spirit of our community and the essential role that our volunteers play in making a real difference.

“Thank you to Westminster Connects for organising such a great thank you event in the Lord Mayor’s parlour. It was great to see so many Westminster Connects volunteers attend and quite moving to hear some of the volunteers talk about how much of a difference volunteering has made to their lives in so many ways.” Nigel, Volunteer Manager, One Westminster
“It was great meeting up at the event after a year of physical engagement, l loved every moment of it. I want everyone to know that volunteering is getting out of your comfort zone and sharing your experiences, love and support with others in your community.” Emmanuel, Westminster Connects, Walking Companion Volunteer
"I was touched and honoured to be invited to such an event and be acknowledged for doing something that comes as second nature to me and clearly many others who were there that evening. I loved hearing about other volunteers’ stories. It was also great to meet some of the other organisations where I might be able to further support and volunteer – look out for me at the Soho Museum next!" Tolani, Westminster Connects, Language Cafe Volunteer
“I feel privileged to be part of such an incredible community. Being there, meeting some special people, listening to their stories was very emotional and most of all inspiring. It was a celebration of GOOD and GENEROUS HEARTS." Monica, Westminster Connects, Wellbeing Check-in Volunteer
Thank you for everything you do, and we can’t wait to see what lies ahead in 2026!
