New Westminster Connects Opportunity: Neighbourhood Volunteers

Westminster Connects is happy to announce that we have a new role available. Become a Neighbourhood Volunteer and connect with an older, disabled or socially isolated neighbour in a way that suits your schedule. By sharing a little time (usually once a week) and practical support, you can help a resident stay independent—and help both of you feel more connected to your local community.
You might shop for essentials, run an errand, take a local walk, help someone get online or attend a community activity together. You are not there to be a carer, but provide practical, friendly support that can open the door to new places, people and experiences close to home.

Our new Neighbourhood Volunteer role is a fantastic opportunity for residents to make a real difference in their local community, whether that's helping someone with shopping, collecting a prescription, getting online, or simply enjoying a walk together.
These small acts of kindness can have a huge impact in reducing loneliness, supporting independence, and helping people stay connected to the community around them. I would encourage anyone who can spare a little time to consider getting involved.’
