“As I enter my third month as Lord Mayor, meeting Westminster’s different communities has been one of the greatest privileges of the role. I am proud of the diversity that makes our city so special and inspired by the community spirit I see every day, whether it is the important work done by community groups or residents volunteering to shop or walk with their neighbours. These acts of kindness are what make Westminster such a wonderful place to live.
“My focus this year is to improve access to culture for children and young people, making sure that Westminster’s rich cultural opportunities and career pathways are available to everyone. I’m also committed to supporting those experiencing homelessness - a cause that means a great deal to me after years of volunteering with homelessness charities.
“As Lord Mayor, I attend many charity events and visits, and so much of this work wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of volunteers. To everyone who gives their time and energy to support those in need, thank you. If you are thinking about volunteering, Westminster Connects is a wonderful place to start. Even a small amount of your time can help make Westminster an even stronger and kinder place.”
