August Festivals - Queens Park and ReNew
It might be the summer holidays, but Westminster Connects Volunteers have still been out in our communities, doing the good work! Find out what we have been up to this month below.
Queen's Park Summer Festival
Queen’s Park Summer Festival took place on Saturday 1st August, and the community came out in full force to enjoy the most diverse festival in the area.
This festival aims to celebrating the 150th anniversary of The Avenues Youth Centre.
Event Volunteers were an integral part of the day. The organisers were extremely grateful for all the support our amazing volunteers provided, allowing the day to run smoothly and efficiently.
Helping with both set up, clear up, and the festivities themselves - such as running the fun kids' activities, like Hook a Duck - our dedicated volunteers had a lot to do, and they truly brought out the spirit of the community. With activities for all ages, there was something for everyone!

ReNew Festival
Westminster Connects volunteers played a fantastic role in supporting the four-day ReNew Summer Festival at Grand Junction from 28–31 July.
The ReNew Festival focused on sustainbability, helping attendees learn how to live sustainably, support each other, and give things a second life! Attendees explored a vibrant marketplace where they could get items fixed, mended or turned into something new.
Through Arts and Crafts activities at Church Street Triangle, our volunteers helped bring people together, connect with local residents, and raise awareness of community services.
